Hi Rob, thanks for the info!
I just got done overhauling a 1957 two tone GA-40 for a customer, and while it sounds good, it doesn't sound as nice or have as much volume as what I remember the later all tweed circa '59-'60 GA-40's to have. I was thinking the transformers must be different with hgher voltages perhaps? This one had around 330v on the plates of the 6V6's. Every cap leaked DC too btw, which always seems to be the case for those old Astrons and Bumblebees....at least the ones I've seen.
Was the '61 the same setup as the '59-'60 all tweed ones with the slanted front and a single 12?
