If you want to save some bucks, I think the Weber OT offerings would be a quality upgrade over came in the amp. The one's I have experience with, they sound right to my ears. i.e. they don't sound too hifi... bass doesn't swallow up the treble at lower volumes.. bass/mid/treb frequencies are balanced at low/med/higher volumes.
Personally, I'd never spend the extra $$$ for MM. If you're looking for a wider dynamic range, the Allen (Heyboer made) T022 or TO25.. Or the Heyboer that Weber sells: HY041318. I have a Heyboer in my Allen Old Flame. The amp sounds really good, but I have to turn the bass knob to 1-2 most of the time, there's just too much and the treb gets swallowed up some at lower volumes.
