The "micro" switch acted as a kill switch or mute.. It was inline with the black wire going to the jack...i removed it and currently just have the hole in the pickguard..

I feel you on the pickups..This isnt the normal Tele microphonic thing, this is way more than that..like blackface fender amp on 4, and they are howling...both of them. With that said, I gigged it 3 times today (yes, I have 3 gigs every Sunday) and it was a machine!!! I had to work it a little, but the sound! I'm not wanting to change them, not wanting to pot them...so I might just reserve myslef to the fact that this guitar can only be used in certain situations...
