Beautiful guitars, Nick. RE: fretboard wear and coloration.... You fresh guitar has wear linked to playing only in the key of A...A,D and E in teh primary position along with a bit of lead up the neck. The whiteguard guitar shows use of all chords in the first position...plenty of alternating 5ths with B7 chord even....and then some lead play on down the board. Coloration....I would be tempted to get some dust out of the vacuum, mix it with a small bit of some very light oil and go to darkening those 'wear' spots. Or...loosen the strings and put them off to one side. Go change the oil in the car. Wipe your hands on a cloth but don't clean them. Go rub those spots with those dirty hands. If it gets too dark, quickly wipe with a clean rag damp with naptha/lighter fluid. OR...just wait for your body oils to darken the wood. If you rub a finger in the area of the cheek close to the nose, you will get some good oil. Rub that in those spots and fairly quickly you will see darkening. Your guitar guy needs to learn to 'wear' a neck in more than that one key. (:^) At any rate, nice guitars, Nick.
