Fender may have used that 1 meg pot because the players who had been playing Tele for almost those 20 years..'49-'66 had lost their high end hearing. The 1 meg brightens it up for those people. ????? LOL For my ears, the 1 meg is definitely too much top end. I will try lifting that .001 on the next 1 meg Tele I see.
