Control cavity depths were right at 1.5" on all ash body Teles. When I made Nacho's Pine Replica I used a period correct CLR switch and routed the cavity barely deep enough to allow it to fit. I don't remember now the exact depth, but it did fit...barely. The pine body was the correct 1.5" thick. Pictures of those guitars are very scarce, but having been through this I'm happy to help if you have questions.
