52 AV RI vs. the real deal

I reckon that some folks here are lucky to own a real vintage Tele and I was wondering if anyone of you has ever compared the real deal with those 52 Reissue bodies?

I'm asking because I habe encountered problems installing a Bigsby B16 tailpiece on a 52 RI, a tremolo original Teles seem to have no problem with!
On the 52 RI the tailpiece does not cover the bridge pickup rout entirely whilst old Teles from the 50's do since I have seen plenty of pics with this unit perfectly installed.

This led me to wonder if the Reissue bodies are a tad longer than Tele-bodies from the 50's but I have no chance to check on this.

Maybe someone here has A/B'd them?
Fuzzy? Anyone?
