I'm going to let the wear spots darken as I play, which is a lot!
I'm very impressed with Dave Lautner's work. There were areas on the guitar that still had original finish, the rear body string ferrules, inside the cut away, at the neck and behind the neck plate etc. He kept these splotches of original finish and blended the new absolutely perfectly.
