Well, I'm not a collector. I just accumulate.
At any rate, this guy seems to think the G70's are special. http://www.moremusic.com/lapsteels.html I have some minor doubts myself, but since I'm not worried about the collectability of anything that I have your suggestion for the tuners does not seem a bad one. I've done that sorta swap on a couple Strats so it has no mysteries. I was more looking for the cheap/easy way hahaha.
