These are old pickups ('52!) and can need rewinding. But also, they can need remagnetizing. With the age of these things it is not uncommon to have mismatched output. My DP is not accessable right now so I can't get you a DC impedance reading. The string-thru pickup isn't your average pickup. Tough or impossible to find a replacement.
Jason Lollar is my first thought for getting the pickups rehabbed.
