52 fender double neck lap steel- 8 strings each.
I'm working on one of these for a friend and have found that the "top" guit is quieter then the "bottom".
I've been through the wiring and everythign looks fine, and I've reflowed or cleaned up solder connections. now i'm suspecting the pickup. what DC resistance should i measure on these pickups? I guess i can compare it to the "working" one, but i don't know if that one is correct for that matter. What is the DC resistance just for reference? Also- what's the general procedure for a bad pickup? are there replacements made of does it have to be rewound? Who carries replacements, or rewinds them? Any help is appreciated- i'm a steel newbie.
Justin
