Getting evn farther from topic....
Yes I remember the Paul Ruben incident and may even have heard the tune you are talking about.

I like the porky pig bit with the test.
I had a friend who worked in radio for quite some time and was known in California as MAd Ad. ( Addison Hawley ). he was known for not taking anything too seriously , like doing fake public awareness spots and fake commercials for things like Royal Lictensteiner airlines where he invented a jumbo jet with swimming pool and cocktail lounges on board so the kids and the adults both had someplace to play on long ait trips.
Eventually he decided radio was too much of a backstabbing medium and moved to TV becomming the third guy in WBAL advertising ( those fake ads must have helped him ) then when the top guy quit or retired he was secod=nd until the guy above him while coming home from the promotion celebration was involved in a fatal auto accident. He then was the number one guy in the third place out of three TV stations advertising department but managed to make then number one in a very short time frame.
He called me up in NH once to ask if I wanted a job and was commiserating about how his dad who had been president of interpace ( international pipe and ceramics ) managed to keep both cars on the road and the house in good shape since he was having pronlems with the mercedes and the corvette I think at the same time. He told me he was really down and was sitting inside having a drink or three while looking out over the enclosed swimming pool into the other wing of the ranch style mini mansion.

I was tempted of course but stayed true to my resolve never to enter the corporate world ( man was I an Idiot back then ).

I was on both the FDU and Franconia radio stations both either short range or carried through the electrical wiring to a captive audience.

Dave ( full name david addison hawley ) had been on the fdu station while still in high school and became the night program director for WDHA the rock of north Jersey back when it was atop the hill in rockaway twp off rt ten.
Sounds impressive but mainly he recorded the entire show then played a tape and listend from home
That was before he went to California and we used to write fake ads together while playing pool or billiards in his family basement.

Public service announcements are just too damn easy to turn into jokes. It's almost as if the guys writing them intended they be parodied. Even the sky copter traffic guys get bored and play games sometimes. Radio and TV ads have been fodder for comedy for almost as long as they have been in existence. If you find that porky pig test routine on line you should post a link on the jokes board.
