I'm pretty sure that the original source for MOTS was in Italy. I'd guess that the people who make it also make the raw stocks for nitro guitar picks, too.
The stuff can be dangerous to work with, at least in the traditional method. Heat up a vat of acetone [!], and let the fumes soften it, so you can stretch it over the frame. The story goes that when the fire inspector saw that happening at Fender, he :ran: and called them from across the street to tell them to stop!
