MFD is brittle and heavy.

But if you are going for a solid sound and not an enclosure that has resonance properties, I find MFD excellent.

Matter of fact, when I build some of my enclosure, the speaker baffle and the back baffle is MFD with 1/8" plywood.

Some cork sniffing member from TGP is going to say MFD is inferior material for building speaker enclosures. For construction strength and weight, yeah, I'll agree but when it come to tone wise, that's different. I even think the majority of the playback studio monitor in recording studios are made of MFD boards.
