I'm a fan of MDF for baffles. Fender used it afer the tweed era. Frankly one of the best sounding cabs I ever had was a Fender that was all MDF. heavy though! I have a tweed bassman clone with Ply baffle and it sounds good, but tends to rattle/vibrate at higher volumes. Of coursse it's 4 x 10 on a 3/8 baffle!
