I don't think the list price is too high...IF you get what you pay for. Look at how many Klon (and other) pedals have sold because people believe that while expensive, it's worth it to get something special, something they really want. So the unit has to be a great performer and get a good reputation. Many high-end pedals sell for $300 or more these days, and reverb is an effect kind of in a class by itself, I would expect to pay more for a great 'verb than a great overdrive. I do think this can be overdone, however. See Fulltone's tube echo. Major chunk of change. Plus I think there's a perception of it being delicate, not really giggable, which also is important. I also don't think it matters (to most) whether it has tubes or not, as long as the performance is there, which is a high standard since most people know what a good tube verb sounds like.
