I think that refinishing an instrument of that vintage might seriously devalue it...
and anyway, the naturally beat up look is really cool. I don't know what I was thinking but about 14 years ago I got a jones for refinishing my '71 P Bass - a DIY job - all because the sunburst was worn and beaten. It was one of the stupidest mistakes I ever made with an instrument and now stands as a testament to it. So now you can buy a "relic-ed" Jaco bass or whatever - I already had it and I lost it....
