My bass player needs to retube his Sunn 300T, and I'm investigating choices. This is one of the modern 2000ish FMIC Sunn heads with six 6550's stock. I think the originals are Svetlana (Winged C) brand, and they have 6+ years on them. They're getting tired.
Does anyone have any recommendations for a good modern 6550/KT88 for this amp? I'm seeing a lot of talk in various forums regarding the JJ KT88, but I'm not sure what would be best for this amp.
